How to Make a Roblox Lava Escape Game in 90 Minutes (Free Scripts Included)
Build a beginner Roblox lava obby with free Luau scripts, two checkpoints and a testing checklist. Allow 60–90 minutes; beginners may need longer.

You can build a small Roblox lava escape game by creating an obstacle course in Roblox Studio, adding a touch-triggered lava hazard and giving each player their own checkpoints. This guide takes you from an empty project to a playable prototype, with three Luau scripts to copy and understand.
Your challenge: jump across six to eight platforms, reach two checkpoints and escape to a clearly marked finish. Allow roughly 60–90 minutes for a simple version; a complete beginner may need longer. This is a learning project, not an earnings promise.
You need: a Windows or Mac computer capable of running Roblox Studio, a Roblox account and time to practise. Use basic parts you create yourself. No paid assets or plugins are needed for this prototype.
1. Plan a small game you can finish
Keep the first version deliberately short. Build a safe starting area, a lava floor underneath the route, six to eight jumping platforms, two green checkpoint pads and a gold finish platform. Make the route obvious before adding decoration.
Try an easy opening jump, a checkpoint after the first few jumps, then a slightly more demanding section. The second checkpoint should leave only a short final stretch. Your aim is a playable course, not a hundred unfinished levels.
